学院简介

广东外语外贸大学新闻与传播学院始建于2005年,前身为1997年创办的国际新闻专业。学院以建设国际化特色鲜明的高水平新闻传播学科为目标，秉持专业+外语的学科发展理念，着力构建“全媒体国际传播学科体系”，打造“国际传播，华南重镇”。经过二十年的发展，已经形成学科体系较为完整，人才培养层次较为齐全，教学科研团队结构合理、实力较强，科学研究成果丰硕，社会服务能力较强，学生就业率高、声誉好的良好局面。学院现有新闻学、广告学、网络与新媒体、播音与主持艺术四个本科专业，设有新闻与传播专业硕士学位授权点和文化传播与媒介学术型硕士学位授权点。学院拥有广州市社科重点研究基地“广州国际城市创新传播研究中心”、校级重点研究基地“政府传播与国际舆情研究中心”，校级科研创新团队“城市形象国际传播研究”；学院下设“多语种国际舆情研究研究中心”、“卓越国际新闻传播人才培养基地”、“跨文化传播与国际传播学术翻译研究中心”、“政府传播与危机管理咨询实训中心”、“区域形象与品牌传播咨询策划研究所”、“全媒体创新实验中心”及“全媒体创新创业中心”。与羊城晚报报业集团共建“广外-羊晚全媒体与国际传播研究院”。并与人民网、腾讯网、新华网及中译语通科技（北京）公司等建立全面战略合作关系。学院未来发展战略目标定位是：用5到10年，将学院打造成为华南地区领先、国内一流、有一定国际影响力的全媒体与国际传播教学与研究重镇，构建集人才培养、科学研究、决策咨询服务及政-媒-产学研一体化的高端智库型平台。     学院现有教授14人、副教授9人、专职外教4人、博士及博士后22人、在读博士8人，其中具有境外访学经历者占70.3%，境外学历者占30%，从事全英教学者占30%。学院教师承担国家社科基金项目10项、省部级项目30余项、政府及企事业单位重大委托项目数十项、出版专著40余部，译著近20部，编写各类教材10余部，发表高水平论文数百篇。目前与英国、美国、澳大利亚、台湾、香港等十余所国际知名大学建立了研究生、本科生合作培养和学术交流关系。学生就业连续多年达到百分之百的就业率。新闻学专业于2010年被广东省教育厅确立为省级特色专业；2012年被省教育厅确立为省级人才培养模式创新试验区，2013年被省教育厅确立为“卓越新闻传播人才教育”省级综合改革试点单位。    Introduction to the School of Journalism and Communication The School ofJournalism and Communication at GDUFS was founded in 2005 and emerged out ofthe International Journalism program offered to students majoring in English.Since the School’s establishment, teaching journalism in English has been amajor concept. Our goal is to develop into an influential base for teaching andresearch in international communication throughout the country, particularly inSouth China. After 10 years of development, we now offer 4 undergraduate majors(Journalism, Advertising, Broadcasting and Hosting, and Internet and New Media)and 2 MA programs in Journalism and Communication, Cultural Communication andMedia. We not only have excelled at academic research, but also have providedservices to governments and various other organizations. Our 100% employmentrate of graduates ranks at the top among China’s journalism schools.    The school runsa key research center for Political Communication and International PublicOpinions, and has a team for the research on China’s ability of internationalcommunication. The school also has co-built and runs the Research Institute forOmnimedia and International Communication with the local press group, YangchengEvening News. Comprehensive cooperation has been established with People’sDaily Online, Tencent, Global Tone Communication Technology Co., Ltd and XinhuaOnline.       Teachers in ourschool are undertaking 10 projects of national social sciences, over 30 provincialand ministerial research programs, and dozens of programs sponsored bygovernments, enterprises and institutions. They have published more than 40 monographs,20 translated books, 10 textbooks and hundreds of high quality papers. The school’s staff includes 14 professors and 9associate professors, 22 teachers with doctoral degrees, 8 who are pursuingdoctor’s degrees and 4 full-time foreign teachers. Three-quarters of theteaching staff possess overseas study experience, while 30% have obtained theirdegrees from abroad, and 30% can conduct all-English instruction. We haveestablished academic exchange and cooperation programs for both undergraduatesand postgraduates with over 10 universities in the UK, USA, Australia, Taiwanand Hong Kong. In recent years our Journalism BA program won awards from theGuangdong Provincial Education Department and was chosen as a provincialtest-bed for innovative and excellent journalism education.
